Brazilian Butt Butt Lift (Augmentation)

Brazilian Butt Augmentation Surgery

The Brazilian Butt Augmentation (Brazilian Butt Lift), or gluteal augmentation surgery, is a type of butt augmentation procedure which uses a person’s own fat to naturally augment and shape the buttocks. Liposuction is performed to remove fat from other areas of the body (often the stomach, hips, and thighs), then transfers that fat to the buttocks. Additional liposuction can be done around the butt to improve the appearance of lift and contour.

The Brazilian Butt Augmentation results in more perky, youthful buttocks and a more sensual body profile. Candidates for the procedure include both women and men who have flat buttocks. FAQs about Brazilian Butt Augmentation

A good candidate for Brazilian Butt Augmentation is someone who is overall in good health, but has sufficient donor areas of fat on their body. Excess fat is needed in order to ensure there is enough fat available for the transfer to create a round buttock during surgery. Patients who are very thin are often advised to gain weight before the surgery to ensure there is enough fat to transfer to ensure a successful result.
The areas of the body used to donate fat via liposuction depend on the patient, though primarily the fat is removed from the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs and lower back.
Brazilian Butt Augmentation uses a patient’s own body fat to create the desired shape. It creates a more natural look and feel and it is easier to achieve optimal results than implants. With implants, volume can only be delivered to one specific area and you are unable to custom shape the buttocks with sculpting and contouring. There is also a lower risk of infection with the lift because it uses the patient’s own tissue.
The amount of fat that is absorbed back into the body varies by patient and the technique used. Most patients can expect to keep any where from 30-70% of the total fat transferred. After six months, the fat that remains is permanent.
Recovery time is highly dependent on the patient and how their body responds to Brazilian Butt Augmentation surgery. Before leaving the center, you will be given specific instructions on how to care for your buttocks, medications to use, and when to follow-up with Dr. Azad. Most patients will return to work a week after the procedure. It is recommended for patients to modify their sitting position with the use of cushions (donuts) for a few weeks after surgery.
